Product Description
CD47 has been shown to have a role in both cell adhesion by acting as an adhesion receptor for THBS1 on platelets, and in the modulation of integrins.15 In the brain, it appears to play an important role in memory formation and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus.16 CD47 is a receptor for SIRPA, binding to which prevents maturation of immature dendritic cells and inhibits cytokine production by mature dendritic cells.17 Interaction with SIRPG mediates cell-cell adhesion, enhances superantigen-dependent T-cellmediated proliferation and costimulates T-cell activation.15 CD47 may play a role in membrane transport and/or integrin dependent signal transduction. CD47 has been described as broadly expressed in many human tissues, with abundant expression in epithelial cells, the brain, and in ovarian cancer.18
