Product Description
Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) also known as Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), encodes a latent nuclear antigen which is the product of the viral gene ORF73.1 The protein is expressed predominantly during viral latency and appears to play a role in viral integration into the host genome.1 HHV-8 is associated with Kaposi’s sarcoma, primary effusion lymphoma, and multicentric Castleman’s disease, in which tumor cells express the latencyassociated nuclear antigen.2
