Product Description

The Biocare Vimentin antibody detects a 57–60 kDa intermediate filament protein identified as vimentin. This antibody shows no cross-reactivity with closely related intermediate filament proteins, such as desmin or GFAP.¹⁵ Vimentin is the principal intermediate filament protein in mesenchymal cells and is useful in the differential diagnosis of undifferentiated neoplasms, including melanoma and sarcoma.^16,17 It may also serve as an internal control in formalin-fixed tissues that have been over-fixed.¹⁶
