HER-2/Neu (also known as ERBB2 or HER2) is a member of the human epidermal growth factor receptor, family of tyrosine kinases, involved in critical signaling pathways that control cell proliferation and survival.1 HER2/Neu protein overexpression is associated with breast, ovary, endometrium, cervix as well as lung, esophageal, gastric, and bladder cancers.2 HER-2/Neu is an important target for anticancer treatment strategies.2
