Hairy Cell Leukemia is a rare hematological malignancy in which B-cell lymphocytes are produced in excessive quantities. Hairy Cell Leukemia is characterized by small lymphocytes bearing fine hair-like cytoplasmic projections with infiltration of reticuloendothelial organs such as lymphoid organs and bone marrow.15,16 This mouse monoclonal antibody, also referred to as DBA.44, may be used in immunohistochemistry (IHC) testing using bone marrow biopsies to identify Hairy Cell Leukemia over low grade B-cell lymphomas.17 DBA.44 shows a high and consistent reaction with tissue infiltrates of Hairy Cell Leukemia, with a detection rate of 96%.18
