Tween 20 is a nonionic polysorbate detergent (surfactant) commonly used as an additive to buffers and reagents in IHC procedures to enhance spreading across tissues and reduce background staining. Automation Tween 20, 20X may be diluted in deionized water for rinsing specimens on an automated staining system.
