ALCL stained with TIA-1 antibody

TIA-1

TIA-1 (T-cell intracytoplasmic antigen) monoclonal antibody reacts with a 15 kDa isoform of a cytoplasmic granule-associated protein that is expressed in cytolytic lymphocytes.15,16 Expression of the TIA-1 is characteristic of cytotoxic cells regardless of their activation status.17

CD4 (RM)

CD4, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, is a transmembrane glycoprotein, expressed on mature thymocytes, T-helper cells, the majority of mature peripheral T cells, and a subset of suppressor or cytotoxic T cells (1). In lymphoid tissue, CD4 expression can be found in the paracortical T zone. CD4+ T cells are also seen scattered in […]

Granzyme B

Cytotoxic lymphocytes, including NK cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), play a major role in the defense against neoplastic processes and viral infections (1). Granule exocytosis is the mechanism by which cytotoxic lymphocytes may induce lysis of its target. This involves granule-associated cytotoxic proteins, including the T-cell intracellular antigen-1 (TIA-1), perforin and granzyme B (1,2). […]

CD4 + CD8

CD4 is expressed in a T-cell subset (helper/inducer) and is found in approximately 80% of thymocytes and in 45% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. CD4 is expressed in the majority of T-cell lymphomas including mycosis fungoides, a common form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (1). CD8 has been shown to be an important marker in the analysis […]

CD8 [C8/144B]

The CD8 antibody reacts with the 32 kDa CD8 protein. CD8 stains cells with cytotoxic activity, including cortical thymocytes, cytotoxic/suppressor T-cells and a subset of natural killer cells. CD4 and CD8 positive and negative staining are indicative of T-cell neoplasms (1-2). CD4 and CD8 may also be used to differentiate between mycosis fungoides and cutaneous […]

CD4 [4B12]

CD4 is a transmembrane glycoprotein, expressed on normal thymocytes, T-helper cells, the majority of mature peripheral T cells, and a subset of suppressor or cytotoxic T cells (1). Like many cell surface receptors/markers, CD4 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. CD4 is expressed in the majority of T-cell lymphomas, including mycosis fungoides (2). CD4 […]

CD103 (RM)

The Biocare CD103 [EP206] antibody detects the integrin subunit CD103, a cell surface antigen characteristically expressed in hairy cell leukemia (HCL), a Bcell lymphoproliferative disorder.15,17 CD103 [EP206] has demonstrated reactivity in formalin-fixed paraffinembedded (FFPE) tissue, eliminating the need for flow cytometry or frozen section IHC and making it a valuable component of an IHC panel […]

(L) Anaplastic large cell lymphoma and (R) Lung adenocarcinoma stained with ALK antibody [5A4]

ALK [5A4]

ALK Antibody (p80) recognizes the formalin-resistant epitope of native anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) protein. ALK Antibody specifically labels t(2;5)-positive cells giving strong cytoplasmic staining that is also associated with nuclear staining. Anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) is a heterogeneous group of diseases by morphology, immunophenotyping and clinical presentation that can be difficult to diagnose because […]
