Cytokeratin 7 antibody is an intermediate filament protein (IFP) of 54 kDa that recognizes the simple epithelium found in most glandular and transitional epithelia; but is not found in the stratified squamous epithelia. This rabbit monoclonal antibody [BC1] has been shown to be highly specific to Cytokeratin 7 and shows no cross-reaction with other IFPs. Cytokeratin 7 is expressed in epithelial cells of ovary, lung and breast. It is often used in conjunction with Cytokeratin 20 and CDX-2 to aid in distinguishing pulmonary, ovarian and breast carcinomas (CK7+) from most colon carcinomas (CK7-).
