Cytokeratin CK17
CK17 reacts with a 40kDa polypeptide and is a type I keratin that is shows staining reaction in human epithelial appendages such as hair follicles. CK17 is an excellent marker to distinguish myoepithelial cells from luminal epithelium of various glands such as mammary, sweat and salivary. Expression of CK17 in breast cancer has been associated with poor clinical outcome.
