Biocare Medical (Concord, CA) and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center (Rochester, NY) are pleased to announce an immediate opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellow focused on the translational research of new tools for diagnostic pathology. The successful candidate will have a background in cancer biology, with a demonstrated aptitude for transforming basic biology into novel approaches for clinical diagnosis and/or prognosis. Experience with immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and image analysis, and quantitative methods are highly desirable.
The Fellow will primarily work at Biocare Medical in Concord, CA under the direction of Dr. David Tacha, CSO and VP of Research & Development, with a joint appointment at the University of Rochester Medical Center, under the supervision of Dr. David Hicks, Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The Fellow will lead an ongoing collaboration between the two institutions focusing on the translational research and development of novel applications of IHC for diagnosis and prognosis of genitourinary, lung, breast, and gastrointestinal cancers.
The Fellow will periodically travel to the University of Rochester Medical Center and will be expected to produce multiple publications resulting from the collaboration, in addition to presentations at scientific meetings.
