CD56
CD56 (neural cell adhesion molecule, a natural killer cell marker) is part of a family of cell surface glycoproteins that plays a role in embryogenesis and contact-mediated interactions between neural cells. CD56 is expressed in a variety of normal and abnormal tissues including skin, small cell carcinoma, neuroblastoma, neurons, astrocytes, Schwann cells, NK cells, and a subset of activated T-cell lymphomas.
